Tasting
Color
The color shows a deep red hue.
Nose
The bouquet is fine and complex, revealing notes of red and black fruits such as cherry, raspberry, and blackcurrant. These fruity aromas are accompanied by a delicate oak note as well as subtle spicy nuances.
Palate
On the palate, this Premier Cru captivates with its supple, full-bodied texture. The structure rests on elegant tannins that give the wine its racy character. The finish impresses with remarkable length.
Food pairing
This Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru is an ideal match for delicately prepared meats, whether roasted or served with a sauce: beef, lamb, pork, game, or duck. It also pairs well with medium-bodied cheeses. The classic recommended pairing remains beef Tournedos Rossini.

The estate
The Albert Bichot house was founded in 1831 by Bernard Bichot in Monthélie and settled permanently in Beaune in 1912. Today led by Albéric Bichot, the sixth generation at the helm of this family business rooted in Burgundy since 1350, it brings together six estates spread across the region, from Chablis to Beaujolais. The vineyard area extends over more than 100 hectares, including 13 hectares of Grand Cru and 26 hectares of Premier Cru. A pioneer of organic viticulture, Albert Bichot now offers, among Beaune houses, the largest selection of certified organic wines.
The vineyard
The Climat Les Malconsorts is located in Vosne-Romanée, in a particularly sunny sector. This exceptional parcel borders the famous Climat La Tâche and benefits from remarkable proximity to the greatest terroirs of Bourgogne: Romanée-Conti lies less than 400 meters away and Richebourg less than 600 meters away. Domaine du Clos Frantin owns 1.76 hectares of vines there, with an average age of 35 to 40 years, planted on limestone Rendzina soils.
Vinification and aging
The grapes for the Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru "Les Malconsorts" Domaine du Clos Frantin 2018 are hand-harvested and then sorted upon arrival at the winery. Fermentation and maceration last 18 to 21 days in temperature-controlled wooden vats. The wine is then aged for 16 to 17 months in oak barrels, with 35 to 40% new barrels.
