The estate
Founded in 1902 by the Catena family, Bodega Catena Zapata has established itself as the undisputed benchmark of Argentine viticulture. Owned by Nicolás Catena and his daughter Laura, the fourth generation at the helm of the estate, the bodega farms high-altitude vineyards reaching up to 1,500 meters in Mendoza, revealing exceptional terroirs. A pioneer in the revival of malbec, the estate combines rigorous scientific research—conducted by the Catena Institute of Wine since 1995—with environmentally respectful practices. Named “World’s Best Vineyard” in 2023 and “Most Admired Brand” in 2025, it embodies Argentine wine excellence.
The vineyard
This wine comes from the Adrianna Vineyard, considered the most studied terroir in the world, located in Gualtallary in the region of Mendoza. More specifically, it is sourced from 27 selected rows in “Block 1” of this 2.5-hectare parcel. Perched at 1,450 meters above sea level, this vineyard sits on limestone soils covered with characteristic oval white stones that give the wine its distinctive minerality and remarkable freshness.
Vinification and aging
After vinification, the Adrianna "White Stones" Chardonnay 2022 undergoes aging on lees for 45 to 95 days. The wine is then aged for 12 to 16 months in second- and third-use French oak barrels, preserving the pure expression of fruit and terroir without imparting overly pronounced woody notes.
Grape variety
This Argentine white wine is 100% chardonnay.
