The refinement and aromatic structure of a Langhe wine
Estate
Located in the village of La Morra, the Cordero Di Montezemolo estate is an emblematic benchmark in the Langhe wine-growing area, in the north of Piedmont, Italy.
Vineyard
Cordero Di Montezemolo oversees nearly 51 hectares of vineyards planted on exceptional terroirs in Piedmont. The estate’s wines are recognized beyond borders for their complexity, power, and great aging potential.
Wine
The Langhe Nebbiolo 2020 from Cordero di Montezemolo is made from grapes sourced from young vineyards located between La Morra, Alba, and the Roero area. Planted on a mosaic of terroirs, altitudes, and exposures, these vines, less than 6 or 7 years old, grow on soils composed of silty clay, sand, and trace elements.
Winemaking and aging
Harvested by hand between late September and early October, the grapes undergo fermentation and maceration in stainless steel tanks for about 8 to 10 days. Racking, then partial malolactic fermentation in steel tanks as well as in small French and Slavonian oak barrels. Aged for 4 to 5 months in steel tanks, followed by additional bottle aging for a few months before release.
Grape variety
Nebbiolo (100%).
