Description
Tasting characteristics and advice for the Christine 2022 cuvée from Domaine Partagé - Gilles Berlioz
Tasting
Appearance
The color reveals a deep golden hue with green and pearly highlights, reflecting the wine’s richness and concentration.
Nose
The bouquet is toasty, heady and elegant. It opens on notes of luscious candied fruit—particularly ripe apricot and candied citrus—alongside spicy nuances of cardamom. Aromas of brioche, flint, musk, meadowsweet and iris root complete this complex aromatic palette, also evoking Savoy cake.
Palate
On the palate, the wine strikes a pleasing balance between richness and energy. The texture is silky, while a vibrant, mouthwatering aromatic intensity comes through. A vertical mineral sensation brings freshness and tension to the whole.
Food and wine pairings
Christine 2022 will pair elegantly with lake fish in sauce, poultry in cream, aged Savoy cheeses, or mushroom-based dishes.
Serving and cellaring
Serve this wine between 11 and 13°C to fully appreciate its aromatic complexity. This wine can be enjoyed now and through around 2037.
A white wine from Savoie combining candied richness and vibrant minerality
The estate
The Domaine Partagé - Gilles Berlioz was founded in 1990 in Chignin, in Savoie, when Gilles Berlioz—trained as a landscape designer—inherited, with his wife Christine, a 0.8-hectare parcel. The vineyard now covers around 7 hectares spread across three blocks on the southern slopes of the Bauges massif. Converted to organic farming in 1999 and certified Demeter in 2018, the estate stands out for its exclusive horse work, its natural winemaking without added yeasts, and its “one terroir, one cuvée” philosophy, producing haute-couture wines recognized internationally.
The vineyard
"Les Christine" comes from the lieu-dit Les Châteaux, more specifically from a selection within the Filles parcel. The 26-year-old Roussanne vines are planted on a clay-limestone terroir with a predominantly clay profile. Full southern exposure encourages optimal grape ripening.
Winemaking and aging
The grapes dedicated to this Les Christine 2022 cuvée are harvested by hand, then gently pressed using slow, delicate pneumatic pressing. Winemaking is carried out with minimal intervention, in keeping with the estate’s natural philosophy, without added yeasts.
Grape variety
100% roussanne, the emblematic grape variety of the Chignin-Bergeron appellation in Savoie.
