The balance and richness of a great Corton wine
The estate
The Picard family's history in Burgundy began with the creation of the estate in 1951 by Louis Félix Picard in Chagny. Today, Francine Picard, representing the third generation, runs this 140-hectare vineyard. In the late 2000s, she created the Au Pied du Mont Chauve label to unite the family jewels located in the prestigious villages of Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin. Deeply committed to respecting the environment, the estate stands out for its biodynamic approach, producing haute couture wines that combine density, freshness and an authentic expression of the terroir.
The vineyard
Located at the northern gateway to the Côte de Beaune, the Climat "Clos des Fiètres" stretches over a confidential 0.36-hectare plot within the prestigious Corton appellation. Benefiting from an ideal south-east exposure, the vines thrive mid-slope on clay-limestone soils rich in small stones, naturally warm and well-drained. The vineyard is cultivated according to biodynamic principles, with the soils worked by horse to preserve the vitality of the land and biodiversity, without any use of chemical herbicides. Some vines are more than a hundred years old.
Grape variety
100% Pinot Noir.
