Description
A fresh and expressive white wine from Saint-Aubin
The estate
Founded in the late 2000s by the Picard family, whose winemaking history in Burgundy dates back to 1951, the Au Pied du Mont Chauve estate covers 35 hectares. Located in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, the property spans the prestigious appellations of Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin. Now led by Francine Picard, the estate stands out for its strong environmental commitment, with organic certification obtained in 2019 and the rigorous application of biodynamic principles to enhance the authentic expression of its terroirs.
The vineyard
The "Pitangerets" climat is a prestigious Premier Cru located in the southern part of the Saint-Aubin appellation, on the border with Chassagne-Montrachet. Rising between 300 and 350 metres in altitude, this distinctive terroir is characterised by steep slopes facing east and south-east. The vines thrive on clay-limestone soils dating from the Jurassic period, dominated by brown clays that ensure excellent water regulation. The vineyard is farmed biodynamically, with natural grass cover and strict Guyot pruning to preserve the plant's balance.
