The elegance of a great Bordeaux Blancs Secs wine by Château Lynch-Bages
The estate
The history of Château Lynch-Bages took a decisive turn upon its official creation in 1750, when Thomas Lynch acquired the estate. Located in the renowned region of Bordeaux, in the Pauillac appellation, this iconic property spans a vast vineyard mainly dedicated to red wines, complemented by a parcel reserved for whites. Today, Jean-Charles Cazes leads the estate, perpetuating the excellence of this globally recognized name. The Cazes family has elevated this growth to the rank of the finest, combining respect for tradition with technical innovation.
The vineyard
The terroir dedicated to the production of this wine covers an area of 11 hectares. The vines thrive on soils composed of Garonne gravels, an exceptional geological environment that ensures optimal drainage, ideal for producing great Bordeaux Blancs Secs.
The vintage
The year stands out for an early vintage, marked by a both consistent and highly promising growing cycle. Favorable weather conditions, with radiant skies during the harvest, helped maintain excellent overall vine health, suggesting moderate yields of outstanding quality.
Winemaking and aging
Following manual harvesting from August 26 to September 4, along with rigorous selective sorting in the vineyard and on the sorting table, the wine undergoes six months of aging on lees. This stage takes place in barrels, 50% of which are new oak, adding complexity without masking the purity of the aromas. Alcohol content: 13.4% vol.
Grape varieties
The blend of this Blanc de Lynch-Bages 2025 consists of 60% sauvignon blanc, 24% sémillon, 11% muscadelle, and 5% sauvignon gris.
