The Fruity and Indulgent Expression of a Corbières Wine
The Estate
Founded in 1921 by Doctor Courrent, the Castelmaure cooperative winery oversees a historic vineyard in Languedoc. Today, the estate is collectively owned by its 54 member winegrowers, who continue to uphold a shared governance model. Renowned for its exceptional standard of quality within the cooperative world, the winery combines a rich, centuries-old heritage with a resolutely innovative approach. By blending respect for local traditions with modern technical investment, Castelmaure has become known for creating distinctive, convivial and bold cuvées, establishing itself as an unmissable reference in its region.
The Vineyard
Located in the south of France, in the heart of the Hautes Corbières, the vineyard extends over rugged terrain benefiting from a sunny Mediterranean climate. The vines dedicated to this cuvée grow on a mosaic of schist and limestone soils. Vineyard management favours controlled yields, with hand-harvesting carried out in small crates to preserve the integrity and quality of the grape bunches.
Winemaking and Ageing
The Grenache Noir and Syrah are destemmed and co-fermented in a traditional maceration process punctuated by pump-overs. The Carignan, meanwhile, undergoes whole-bunch maceration for twelve days. Ageing then takes place in concrete vats, with regular racking allowing for gentle oxygenation and natural stabilisation of the wine.
Grape Varieties
This cuvée is crafted from a blend of Syrah, Carignan and Grenache Noir.
