Description
A fresh and beautifully rich Argentinian red wine
The estate
Bodega Chacra welcomes you to the Río Negro region, at the southern tip of Argentina. This gem was founded in 2004 by Piero Incisa della Rocchetta. It all began at a tasting in New York, where he tried a Pinot Noir from Río Negro that left an indelible impression on him. He was immediately convinced that this land held exceptional potential, with ungrafted vines dating back to 1932, massal selections and perfect climatic conditions. Piero Incisa della Rocchetta then took the helm of this privileged site to craft the wines he had long envisioned, nectars capable of expressing “the taste of a place on the planet”, in his own words.
The vineyard
Bodega Chacra is located in the heart of Río Negro in Patagonia, a region shaped by the confluence of the Limay and Neuquén rivers. The landscape then opens out onto vast plains and forests, at altitudes ranging from 290 to 330 metres. It is in this lush setting that this Patagonian estate thrives, nestled in a natural haven of 24 hectares of vines. The vineyard is certified organic and biodynamic.
The Barda Pinot Noir comes from a vineyard planted in 1990 on predominantly sandy soil, farmed according to organic and biodynamic principles.
Vinification and ageing
Fermentation takes place at low temperature in cement tanks and is carried out by native yeasts. The wine is then aged for 8 months in a combination of concrete tanks, steel tanks and French oak barrels.
Grape variety
This Barda 2025 from Bodega Chacra is 100% Pinot Noir.
