Packed with layers of lush, creamy, polished, energetic black cherries, plums, licorice, chocolate, and spices, the wine is fresh, sweet, and vibrant, leaving you with layers of ripe, polished cherries and stone fruit, with a lush-textured, fruity finish. Drink from 2028-2045. 92-94 Pts

Limestone dominates the structure, delivering notes of salted cracker and pumice stone. This is very pretty, with lovely blueberry and raspberry juiciness that comes through on the mid-palate. It has plenty of the vintage’s signature of fresh acidity and bright fruit, mouthwatering on the finish—measured and skilful.

Description

A Montagne-Saint-Émilion wine with mineral elegance

The estate
The Château Clos de Boüard was established in 2016 following the acquisition of the former Tour Musset estate, on the Right Bank of Bordeaux. Located in the prestigious Montagne-Saint-Émilion appellation, the estate is managed by Coralie de Boüard. Benefiting from the expertise of her father, Hubert de Boüard, the property stands out for its approach combining tradition and innovation, producing wines of great elegance that perfectly reflect the richness of their terroir.

The vineyard
The 24-hectare vineyard in production stretches across the magnificent clay-limestone slopes of Montagne-Saint-Émilion. Benefiting from an ideal southern exposure for berry ripening, the vines, averaging 40 years of age, draw on this exceptional terroir to produce highly concentrated grapes.

Vinification and ageing
The harvest took place from September 12 to 30, with rigorous manual sorting complemented by optical sorting. Vinification begins with a cold pre-fermentation maceration at 8 to 10°C, followed by a fermentation lasting three to five weeks. Malolactic fermentation takes place in new barrels. Finally, the wine is aged for 18 months in oak barrels, including 30% new barrels and 30% one-wine barrels. Alcohol: 14% vol.

Grape varieties
85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
