Château de Beaucastel : Coudoulet de Beaucastel 2023

The 2023 Côtes-du-Rhône Coudoulet de Beaucastel turned out well, unwinding with fragrant black cherry, blackberry and earthy scents. Medium-bodied, silky and refreshing, the 2023 is a delicate, finesse-driven red Côtes-du-Rhône from the talented Perrin family, clocking out with energy on the refined finish. Cropped at roughly 28 hl/ha.

Salty and earthy, with a ripe center of black raspberry and cherry that streams through, laced with dusty earth and alder smoke. Polished rooibos tea tannins keep a gentle hold through the delicious, briny finish. Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah and Cinsaut. Drink now through 2029.

The 2023 Côtes-du-Rhône Coudoulet de Beaucastel reveals aromas of dark berries, flowers, spices and garrigue, followed by a medium- to full-bodied, round and charming palate framed by velvety tannins. It concludes with a long, fruity and gourmand finish. This is a great vintage for Coudoulet—a blend of 30% Mourvèdre, 30% Grenache Noir, 30% Syrah and 10% Cinsault.
