The Elegance and Authenticity of a White Burgundy by Château de Chamirey
The Estate
Founded in 1934 by the Marquis de Jouennes d'Herville, Château de Chamirey is an emblematic figure of the Burgundy region. Now led by Amaury and Aurore Devillard, who represent the fifth generation of the family, the estate oversees an extensive vineyard. The domaine stands out for its commitment to producing wines that faithfully reflect their terroir while maintaining an accessible approach.
The Vineyard
Located to the north of the Côte Chalonnaise, the vineyard of the Mercurey appellation rests on clay-limestone soils and marl. The vines thrive at an altitude ranging from 230 to 320 metres, promoting aromatic concentration in the berries while preserving a beautiful freshness.
The Vintage
The year 2023 in Burgundy offered favourable climatic conditions, allowing the white grapes to reach optimal ripeness while retaining a lovely balance and great aromatic freshness.
Winemaking and Aging
The grapes destined for the Mercurey Village 2023 are harvested and sorted by hand. Gentle pressing is used to extract the finest juices. Fermentation and aging take place partly in oak barrels and partly in stainless steel tanks, in order to preserve the purity of the fruit while adding complexity.
Grape Variety
Chardonnay (100%).
