Château Rieussec 2020

Somewhat terse élevage spice that also shapes the palate; good volume and a syrupy sweetness; more full-bodied than long.

Tasted blind. Smells of golden syrup and tastes simple and sweet. Lacks the complexity and bittersweet character of classic Sauternes, but it is long. (JH)

Medium golden yellow, silver reflections. Delicate hints of candied grapefruit, yellow tropical fruit, delicate honey blossom, a hint of orange blossom, inviting bouquet. Juicy, elegant, integrated sweetness, fine acid structure, lime and mint on the finish, already well developed, versatile. (2025-2045).

The 2020 Rieussec has a pale lemon-straw color. It offers up vibrant, gregarious notes of fresh pineapple, juicy apricots, and spiced pears, leading to suggestions of allspice, orange blossom, and almond tart. The palate is lively and intense, with a gorgeous satiny texture and a crisp line lifting the hedonic fruit to a long finish.
