Almost 4 hectares of estate-owned vines in this clos for a Pommard with a racy profile—elegant, silky, with juicy red fruit, very fresh.

The 2021 Pommard Clos des Epenots 1er Cru feels muddled on the nose, missing the delineation of Camus-Brochon's Clos des Arvelets, with tomato vine and lightly earthy red fruit. It becomes a little spirituous with time. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded tannins that lend a soft texture. It is an easygoing Pommard, a bit generic in style, although hats off to the purity of fruit that finally emerges on the finish. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
