The 2022 Mercurey 1er Cru Pièce 13 is more open than the Cuvée Carline, offering up aromas of sweet berries, rose petals, licorice and a stable hint of smoked meats. Medium- to full-bodied, rich and layered, with a lavish attack and a ripe core of fruit framed by sweet tannins, it concludes with a long, delicately carnal finish.
