The Estate
Founded in 1914 by Joseph Matrot, Domaine Matrot is an iconic estate located in Meursault, at the heart of Burgundy. Historically run by Thierry and Pascale Matrot, this 24-hectare family estate is now under the direction of their daughters, Adèle and Elsa Matrot. A pioneer of environmentally friendly viticulture, the estate abandoned chemical products as early as 1976 in favour of organic practices. Renowned for its exacting standards, it produces authentic wines that faithfully express the richness and purity of their terroirs of origin.

The Vineyard
The grapes come from a blend of twelve plots located within the Meursault appellation. The vines, averaging 35 years of age, are grown according to the principles of organic farming. The soils undergo deep decompaction to promote aeration, and grass cover is carefully managed. The vines' nutrition is provided exclusively by compost made on site. To limit yields and ensure optimal quality, bud thinning and green harvesting are regularly carried out.

Winemaking and Ageing
The manual harvest for this Meursault 2024 is decided following close monitoring of berry ripeness. In the cellar, whole clusters are pressed pneumatically. After 24 hours of settling, the must is transferred to barrel to begin slow fermentation using indigenous yeasts, with strict temperature control. Malolactic fermentation is carried out to 100%. Ageing takes place on the lees for 12 months in French oak barrels aged between one and five years, with appropriate lees stirring. The wine then rests for a month in tank before optional fining and lenticular filtration ahead of bottling.
