The elegance of a great Meursault by Louis Latour

The estate
Founded in 1797, the Louis Latour House is a true institution in Burgundy. Having remained independent and family-owned since its creation, this renowned name shines around the world thanks to its historic expertise. Today, Florent Latour leads the estate, carrying on the legacy of his ancestors. The property stands out for its deep commitment to sustainable viticulture, certified ISO 14001, and for owning its own artisanal cooperage. With vineyards spanning the region's finest terroirs, the house produces wines of exceptional quality, true to their origins.

The vineyard
Located in the commune of Meursault, in the Côte de Beaune, the vines of this Premier Cru benefit from an excellent exposure that favours the perfect ripening of the grapes. The "Poruzots" climat, whose name recalls the stony nature of the site, rests on a subsoil of marl and Jurassic limestone. Around 35 years old, the vines are cultivated with great care and yield a controlled 40 hectolitres per hectare. To preserve the integrity of the bunches, the harvest is carried out entirely by hand.

Winemaking and aging
The making of the Meursault 1er Cru "Poruzots" 2021 begins with a traditional fermentation carried out in oak barrels, accompanied by 100% malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged for a careful period of 8 to 10 months. This process takes place in French oak barrels, 50% of which are new. These barrels, crafted directly by the estate's own cooperage and given a medium toast, lend the wine its aromatic complexity while respecting the expression of its terroir.

Grape variety
This vintage is crafted exclusively from 100% Chardonnay.
