Pierre-Jean Villa : Jardin Suspendu 2020

A combination of richness and drinkability – a hard line to walk but Villa succeeds, creating a wine with impressive impact yet balance. Intense peach and apricot fruit, finishing with citrus zest and floral notes. A classic Condrieu from vines up to 40 years old. Fermented then aged 12 months in 15hl foudres, demi-muids and amphorae. Organic.

Another impressive white, the 2020 Condrieu Jardin Suspendu comes from vines in Chavanay and spent 12 months in a mix of foudres, demi-muids, and clay jars. Beautiful white peach, tangerine, citrus, white flowers, and honeyed minerality all emerge from this gorgeous Condrieu that's medium to full-bodied and has remarkable purity, flawless balance, and a great finish. It's already drinking nicely yet will undoubtedly keep for another 4-6 years.

A well-fruited nose, white and exotic. On the palate, roundness well balanced by saline precision; this fresh, elegant Condrieu reaches the heights of the appellation.
