Description

Characteristics and tasting notes for the Lyséras 2025 by Yves Cuilleron

Tasting

Appearance
This wine reveals a beautiful bright and clear yellow hue.

Nose
The aromatic bouquet is particularly charming, unveiling scents of ripe yellow fruits such as peach, underlined by notes of citrus zest and delicate honeyed touches.

Palate
The attack is tender, generous and particularly indulgent. The whole is perfectly balanced by a lovely tangy freshness that draws the wine towards a lingering finish.

Food and wine pairings
The estate recommends enjoying this cuvée with cod en papillote accompanied by cherry tomatoes. More broadly, this white wine will pair wonderfully with delicate fish, seafood, light poultry or creamy cheeses.

Serving and cellaring
To fully enjoy its fruity aromas, the Lyséras 2025 should be served at a temperature between 12 and 14°C. It is best enjoyed in its youth, to be drunk until around 2029.

The elegance of a great white Saint-Joseph by Yves Cuilleron

The estate
Founded in 1920 by Claude Cuilleron, the family winery is today run by Yves Cuilleron, who took over the reins in 1987. Located in Chavanay, at the heart of the northern Rhône Valley, this iconic estate now stretches over 90 hectares spread across several prestigious appellations. Combining tradition and modernity, the property stands out for its demanding and environmentally respectful viticulture. Through signature cuvées, some of which bear a specific brand name, the estate expresses all the richness and authenticity of its great Rhône terroirs.

The vineyard
The grapes come from the northern part of the Saint-Joseph appellation, more precisely from hillside plots located in the villages of Chavanay and Saint-Pierre-de-Bœuf. The vines flourish on sandy and granitic soils, benefiting from a beautiful south and south-east exposure. Vineyard management is meticulous, with a high planting density reaching 8,000 to 10,000 vines per hectare. To preserve biodiversity, no insecticide is used, natural grass cover is favoured and yields are strictly controlled through green harvesting.

Winemaking and ageing
After entirely manual harvesting, the vinification of the Lyséras 2025 is carried out in a traditional and plot-by-plot manner, favouring the use of indigenous yeasts. Ageing then takes place over a period of eight months on the lees, without any racking. This crucial stage is split equally: 50% of the volume rests in thirty-hectolitre oak foudres, while the remaining 50% ages in Burgundy barrels. The different plots are finally blended just before bottling.

Grape varieties
This wine is made from a blend of 50% Marsanne and 50% Roussanne.
