An outstanding vintage champagne from Champagne
The estate
Founded in 1812, the House of Champagne Laurent-Perrier entered its golden age from 1948 onwards, thanks to the drive of Bernard de Nonancourt. Under the leadership of this visionary businessman, the House stood out by crafting cuvées that reflect its values of excellence and innovation.
Since its origins, the House has built its identity around chardonnay. Through the freshness and finesse it brings to the blend, this grape variety defines the style of this benchmark from Champagne.
Maison Laurent-Perrier expresses its avant-garde spirit through, among others, Grand Siècle and its multi-vintage blends, its Ultra Brut in a “zero dosage” style, and its Cuvée Rosé, the first maceration rosé champagne of its category. These so-called “disruptive” cuvées, each release an event in itself, stand out for their originality and mark a new chapter in the history of Maison Laurent Perrier and in its pursuit of excellence that has earned it international renown.
The values dear to Bernard de Nonancourt find their finest expression in the Laurent-Perrier cuvées, unanimously recognized by connoisseurs.
The vineyard
This Laurent-Perrier Millésimé 2018 comes from the finest terroirs in Champagne. The chardonnay comes from the Côte des Blancs, notably from the villages of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize, Cramant and Chouilly. The pinot noir, meanwhile, comes from the Montagne de Reims, with the crus of Verzy, Louvois, Aÿ, Tours-sur-Marne and Ambonnay.
The vintage
The year 2018 was marked by a mild winter and spring, followed by a hot, sunny summer. Harvest began in late August, revealing grapes of exceptional quality and a generous yield. These climatic conditions made it possible to obtain grapes at optimal ripeness.
Winemaking and aging
Millésimé 2018 benefited from seven years of aging, allowing the champagne to develop aromatic complexity and finesse. This cuvée is produced only in rare and exceptional years, less than one year out of two.
Grape varieties
This 2018 vintage Champagne is made from 52% chardonnay and 48% pinot noir.
