Description
Characteristics and Tasting Tips for the Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2025 from Domaine du Château de Meursault
Food and Wine Pairing
This Grand Cru pairs ideally with cod in beurre blanc, oysters in sabayon, or a soft cheese such as Mont d'Or, whose creaminess complements the richness and freshness expected of the wine.

The Estate
Domaine du Château de Meursault took on its current form in 1973, when André Boisseaux restructured and expanded the estate. Located in Burgundy, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, the domaine now extends over 67 hectares farmed organically. Since December 2012, it has belonged to the Halley family, under the leadership of Olivier Halley, who continues a policy of excellence and respect for terroir. The domaine owns several emblematic Grands Crus, including Corton-Charlemagne, and stands out for its strong environmental commitment.
The Vineyard
The Corton-Charlemagne from Château de Meursault comes from a parcel located mid-slope, on a steep southwest-facing incline in the upper part of the Corton hill. The Chardonnay vines are rooted in stony white marl, a soil that stores the sun's heat and releases it gradually, in a late-ripening sector where maturity develops slowly. The entire vineyard, including this Grand Cru parcel, is farmed organically, promoting living soils and preserved biodiversity.
Vinification and Ageing
For the Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2025, the hand-sorted grapes are pressed and settled before alcoholic fermentation in barrels. The wine is then aged on its lees in oak barrels, some of them new, the rest having previously held one or two vintages. During the first months of ageing, the lees are regularly stirred, bringing richness and texture to the wine.
Grape Variety
This Grand Cru is made from 100% Chardonnay, the emblematic grape variety of the great white wines of the Côte de Beaune.
