Domaine Ostertag : Riesling "Les Jardins" 2023

The 2023 Riesling Les Jardins shows plenty of fruity tones from its sandstone and clay influences because all of Le Berceau, which was not made in 2023, was added to Les Jardins, with additions from Clos Matis on granite. There is a floral creaminess here, almost like a shower of spring blossom, guelder rose petal and fresh green apple notes. The palate is smooth, ripe and gentle, with a subtle, salty linearity that directs the creaminess and pushes the freshness forward. This is a balanced, bone-dry Riesling. (Bone-dry)

A delightfully “petrol” nose without tipping into excess. Superb freshness on the palate, with a slightly Protestant, somewhat austere edge that conceals real elegance. The finish stretches on endlessly over the terroir’s minerality.
