Description

The aromatic expression and elegance of an Argentinian red wine

The estate

The Bodega Chacra welcomes you to the heart of the Río Negro region, in the far south of Argentina. This gem was born in 2004 under the impetus of Piero Incisa della Rocchetta. It all began during a tasting in New York, where he discovered a pinot noir from Río Negro that left a profound impression on him. It was clear to him: these terroirs hold unique potential, with ungrafted vines dating back to 1932, massal selections and an ideal climate. Piero Incisa della Rocchetta then set his sights on this exceptional place to create the wines he had dreamed of, nectars capable of expressing "the taste of a place on the planet," in his words.

The vineyard

The Bodega Chacra is located in the heart of Río Negro in Patagonia, a region born from the confluence of the Limay and Neuquén rivers. The landscapes then stretch out towards plains and forests, at an altitude between 290 and 330 meters. It is in this verdant setting that the estate flourishes, nestled within a natural haven of 24 hectares of vines. The vineyard management is certified organic and biodynamic.

The Barda Pinot Noir comes from a vineyard planted in 1990 on slightly sandy soil, cultivated according to organic and biodynamic farming principles.

Vinification and aging

Fermentation, conducted at low temperature in cement tanks, is carried out using indigenous yeasts. Aging then continues for 8 months, divided between 41% in concrete tanks, 35% in stainless steel tanks and 24% in French oak barrels.

Grape variety

This Barda 2024 from Bodega Chacra is made from 100% pinot noir.
