Barons de Rothschild : Blanc de Blancs

A rich, leesy version, with pastry dough, macerated apricot, lemon curd and salted butter notes, backed by sleek acidity and a smoky, mineral-laced undertow. Creamy. Drink now through 2023. 5,000 cases made, 291 cases imported.

(6 g/l dosage; LS30B16L1): Pale yellow. Orange zest, lemongrass, jasmine and chalky minerals on the perfumed nose, with a hint of white pepper adding lift. Juicy, mineral-accented citrus and orchard fruit flavors are fleshed out by suggestions of melon and honey, putting on weight with air while maintaining vivacity. Spicy and focused on the very long, mineral-driven finish, which leaves chalky mineral and floral notes behind.

Elegant, fine bubbles. High-quality raw material. It must be said that the epicenter of production is in Vertus, in the Côte des Blancs. The dosage is fairly pronounced, which makes it better suited to starters than to an aperitif.

Pure Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs makes up this intense wine. Its tight texture and mineral character are shot through with white fruits topped by citrus. This is a well-balanced wine, elegant and ready to drink.
