Description
Tasting characteristics and advice for the 12 Ans de Cave A Minima Rosé by Gosset
Tasting
Appearance
The color reveals a copper hue with golden-pink highlights, reflecting the beautiful maturity gained over the years.
Nose
The nose opens with fruity aromas of strawberry jam and dried figs. With aeration, the bouquet evolves toward spicy notes of black pepper and hawthorn, alongside kirsch and Burlat cherries.
Palate
The attack is lively and fresh. The palate unfolds notes of cherry, calamondin, pink finger lime and blood orange, delivering vibrant freshness.
Food and wine pairings
This rosé Champagne pairs beautifully with duck à l’orange, caramelized pork ribs, or a creamy shrimp risotto. It also matches exotic, spicy dishes such as an almond-and-apricot tajine or a pigeon pastilla with pine nuts. For a gourmand finish, it enhances desserts scented with rose water or orange blossom.
Serving and cellaring
The 12 Ans de Cave A Minima Rosé NM is best enjoyed after resting for at least six months following disgorgement, allowing the dosage to integrate perfectly.
An exceptional rosé Champagne revealing the aging potential of the Gosset House
The estate
Founded in 1584 by Pierre Gosset, alderman and winegrower in Aÿ, Gosset has upheld uninterrupted know-how for more than four centuries. Currently owned by the Iconics Nectars - Renaud Cointreau group, the House sources mainly from grand cru and premier cru vineyards averaging 95% on the cru scale, located in the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne and the Côte des Blancs. Its distinctive hallmark lies in the absence of malolactic fermentation, enabling a purer expression of the terroir while preserving the fruit’s natural integrity.
The vineyard
The grapes come from prestigious villages in Champagne: Ambonnay, Bouzy, Cumières, Louvois and Verzy. These outstanding terroirs, spread across the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne and the Côte des Blancs, bring complexity and character to this cuvée.
Winemaking and aging
The 12 Ans de Cave A Minima Rosé is crafted using rigorous methods. Bottled at the end of the spring following the harvest, it benefits from a minimum aging of twelve years on lees. After disgorgement, the bottles rest for at least six months in the cellar to allow the dosage to integrate perfectly and to reach full harmony.
