Appearance
The appearance is a beautiful straw yellow hue, with golden reflections
Nose
Opening with pastry notes (French toast, vanilla), the nose exhales throughout the tasting gourmand fragrances of orange marmalade and candied fruits, underlined by toasted and smoky nuances, witnesses of a beautiful maturity.
Palate
A round and ample attack gives way to a palate whose texture of crème anglaise, frangipane and caramelized fruits stretches to a lively and persistent finish.
Food and wine pairings
Roasted guinea fowl with grilled fennel and radicchio, cherry-ricotta-prosciutto bruschetta or roasted endives with tapenade are delicate pairings with this cuvée.

The estate
Founded in 1843 by Joseph Krug, a visionary driven by passion, the Champagne Krug House maintains a unique library in the world bringing together more than 150 reserve wines, some of which exceed 15 years of age.
The vineyard
Drawing on more than 250 distinct plots, among which the emblematic Clos du Mesnil and Clos d'Ambonnay, the Krug House possesses an exceptional wine heritage in the heart of Champagne.
The cuvée
Since its creation, Krug reveals each year a new edition of its Grande Cuvée, offering the most generous expression of champagne.
The 163rd Edition of Krug Grande Cuvée results from the blending of 145 wines from 12 different vintages. The youngest comes from 2007, the oldest from 1990. Representing 27% of the final blend, the reserve wines from the illustrious library of the House bring to this edition a remarkable amplitude and roundness. An aging of approximately seven years in the cellar gives it its expressive signature and singular elegance.
