Description
Characteristics and tasting notes of the Brut Nature 2022 by Nathalie Falmet
Tasting notes
Appearance
A golden hue tending towards white, enhanced by subtle reddish reflections typical of its ageing.
Nose
The bouquet opens with intense notes of fresh red berries, reflecting the purity of the fruit and the mineral imprint of its terroir.
Palate
On tasting, this wine offers a remarkable balance between power and delicacy. The aromatic framework is complex, stretching out in pure fashion to a very characteristic saline finish.
Food and wine pairings
Thanks to its beautiful structure, this cuvée is an ideal companion to seafood, fish and shellfish. It pairs perfectly with dishes such as white fish cooked en papillote with lemon and fresh herbs. Its generous profile also allows it to accompany an entire meal.
The pure expression of Pinot Noir according to Nathalie Falmet
The estate
Located in Rouvres-les-Vignes, the estate is run by Nathalie Falmet, both a winegrower and a qualified oenologist. While she released her first bottles around 2009, the current company was officially established on 15 February 2016. At the helm of this 3.40-hectare vineyard, the current owner crafts branded wines renowned for their precision. Equipped with her own laboratory, she oversees every stage of production to deliver authentic cuvées, certified High Environmental Value level 3.
The vineyard
The grapes come exclusively from the Val Cornet plot, located in the Côte des Bar, in the south-east of Champagne. This singular terroir is characterised by Kimmeridgian soils dating from the Upper Jurassic, where marls alternate with limestone rich in marine fossils. The estate cultivates old vines according to the principles of sustainable agriculture that respects the ecosystem.
The blend
This Brut Nature comes from a single harvest, that of 2022, and showcases the pure expression of a single plot.
Vinification and ageing
The Brut Nature 2022 is produced entirely in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, allowing precise control of temperatures. The wine then benefits from extended ageing on laths for three years before disgorgement. True to her style, the winegrower chooses to apply no dosage, letting the wine find its own natural balance.
Grape variety
100% Pinot Noir
