Château Fourcas Dupré 2011

The 2011 Fourcas Dupre exhibits more generous fruit, medium body, no herbaceousness and an absence of dry tannins. Fruit-forward, light to medium-bodied and pleasant, it should be consumed over the next 3-4 years.

86-88. Barrel sample. A wine that shows attractive acidity and soft red-berry flavors, as well as dark, edgy tannins.

Predominantly Merlot and Cabernet blend, with up to 10% Cabernet Franc and a little Petit Verdot. 12 months in barrique, one-third new. Mid ruby. Dark with both fruit and a more savoury, black-olive character, balanced by sweet spice. Lightly chewy tannins, becoming soft, and the whole all in balance. Moderate length and a fresh finish. (JH)

Dark ruby red with a hint of purple. The nose offers dark plum, cassis, spices and some roasted notes. Quite dense mid palate, young and firm tannin, good freshness, spicy dark fruit and a fine length, needs some more time in the cellar.

Herbs, slightly green hue, restrained bouquet, red berries, oak, green leaves. Slim, bony palate with sandy tannins, light fruit, medium intensity, dry finish. 16/20 2018 - 2026

A challenging vintage, handled here with a gentle touch, resulting in an elegant, refined wine. No harshness.

Vinified with suppleness and fruit, with just the right amount of tannin, this is a well-made wine that is approachable in its youth. A fine balance between the quality of the harvest and a hint of the terroir of this lovely Médoc cru bourgeois. Aged 50/50 in tanks and barrels.

Lovely, rounded texture with quite a charming volume, fresh on the finish, with a slight hollow mid-palate.

A fruity, supple wine that lacks structure on the mid-palate. Tannins are a little more rounded than in the past.
