Vinum

Fine and floral, red cherries, dried herbs, currants, violets, very playful; delicate on the palate, remarkably fresh, characteristically elegant, with an almost Burgundian texture, the wine shows tension, balance, length and spice. A safe bet again this year.

Decanter

Dried herbs, soft floral scents and bramble fruit nuances. A lovely easy juiciness to this, lifted and focussed, not particularly sweet or fleshy, but tannins give a generous mouthfeel with salty, wet stone edges. It's a touch sombre at this point but it feels well worked with a sense of classicism in the best way.

Truffle, chocolate, cherries, and flowers give the wine its character. Medium-bodied, fresh, and elegant, there is lift, energy, and vibrance, as well as firmness in this modern, classically-styled vintage. Give the wine just a few years to age, and it could be even better. The wine blends 90% Merlot, with 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink from 2028-2042. 91-93 Pts

Le Figaro Vin

Stewed strawberry, fresher aromas of crushed raspberry and bitter chocolate, combined with meaty notes, create a generous, rounded nose. Very classic and straightforward, the palate balances the acidity of redcurrant, the juiciness of raspberry, and harmonious, silky tannins.

Often a more serious, closed style of Pomerol during the En Primeur tastings, and this starts with subdued aromatics. Give it time in the glass and I suggest waiting a good few years before drinking, as there are firm tannins here, and black fruits with liqourice root spice. This may take a few years to reveal its Pomerol joy, but there is plenty of have confidence in. 23.4 hl/ha, Nicolas and Elise de Bailliencourt now at the estate, the next generation of the family. Tasted twice.

Beautiful deep red with black highlights. Very aromatic, refined nose, fruity and subtle. Delicate on entry, very flavoursome on the mid-palate, the wine melts across the palate—juicy, subtle and long. Very well made and hard to spit out. This proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon is much appreciated. Blend: 90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Alcohol: 13.5%. Yield: 23.4 hl/ha. Production: 35,000 bottles.
