Decanter

Deep dark fruit notes on the nose, blackcurrants and cherries with wild flowers – excellent clarity and focus of aromas. Supple and soft, velvety with a lovely bounce to the expression – there’s layers of fruit and a salty, cola and liquorice, wet stone grip but all balanced and harmonious. Still a little tight and focused as to be expected but there’s real finesse here. You can see the gentle extractions. Chewy, friendly, fun, but still with fragrant and softly spiced fruit. Lots going on. 3.75pH.

Black currants, smoke, tobacco, mint, flowers, and cassis create the aromatics. The palate completes the theme with its lush, creamy, vibrant, black currant, espresso, and licorice packed mid-palate, and fruity, energetic finish. Drink from 2029-2050. 93-95 Pts

Lovely deep colour, impressive grip and lift, austere at this early stage, needs time to open, but well structured, a ton of life ahead of it, lean cassis and bilberry fruits, liquorice root, 43hl/ha yield, 3.75ph.

So much depth and clarity in Meyney’s bouquet—elements it conveys right from the start, without hesitation, with a disarming serenity! Nuances of dark berries, orange peel, pepper, sweet spices and graphite come together to highlight its breadth and the complexity that follows. On the palate, the wine unfolds along a refined, precise line. It has chosen the path of wisdom, revealing its power only late, on the finish, where the tannins are able to show their very best qualities—in terms of structure as well as freshness and persistence. Everything is coherent, perfectly in place. A Meyney that stands out above all for its subtlety and finesse. It is precisely these that confirm its quality ambitions and carry its power. Inseparable partners, shining through their complementarity.

Deep, dark color. An intense, fruity nose that is fresh and ripe, with notes of vanilla and spice. Fleshy on the attack, supple and full-bodied on the mid-palate, with plenty of flavor; the wine develops into a rich, powerful finish supported by fine tannins. A very fine, sapid and aromatic length. Blend: 64% Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot. First vintage certified organic.

Description

The structure and expression of a Saint-Estèphe wine

The estate
The Saint-Estèphe vineyard takes its roots around the Meyney estate, already cultivated in the 13th century by Cistercian monks. In 1625, Pierre Forthon's bequest officially made it an ecclesiastical property. The 19th century marked its entry into the modern era with the Luetkens family, who added the title of "château" to its name. In 1919, the Cordier merchants opened the doors to international recognition. Since 2004, this Left Bank estate of Bordeaux has embraced a new dynamic, owned by the Crédit Agricole Grands Crus subsidiary and led by Anne Le Naour.

The vineyard
Located in Saint-Estèphe, the Château Meyney vineyard enjoys a prime position, giving rise to wines with an elegant structure and refined aromatic expressions. 2024 marks the first vintage certified as Organic.

Vinification and ageing
The grapes underwent a double sorting, first in the vineyard and then in the cellar. Vinification was carried out gently and precisely, tailored to each vat. Ageing took place over 18 months in French oak barrels. Alcohol content: 13% vol.

Grape varieties
Château Meyney 2025 is composed of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 14% Petit Verdot.
