Château Sainte Marguerite Fantastique 2023

Full bottle 1,466 g. Clear-glass bottle. I'm increasingly surprised when I see producers bottling expensive wines, white or rosé, in clear glass. The chance of light strike is so very high, and I wonder why they would risk putting their reputations on the line. Nonetheless, and despite the terrible Disney-esque name, this is an elegant, classic Provence white. White peaches, orange-pekoe tea, bergamot-zested cream, tarragon. Goose-down softness, the acidity plump rather than focused. Frisson of white pepper on the finish. Just a little thin and dilute, especially at this price. (TC)
