The estate
Located in Martillac, in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyards, the renowned Château Smith Haut Lafitte has a history dating back to 1365. This emblematic estate captivates with its exceptional terroir. Owned by the Cathiard family since 1990, the estate stretches across 78 hectares of vines and belongs to the circle of Grands Crus Classés de Graves. The property stands out for its unique Bio Precision approach, combining organic and biodynamic farming to create wines of great renown.

The vineyard
Planted in the Pessac-Léognan appellation, the vineyard rests on a naturally drained mound, made up of Günzian gravel and semi-precious pebbles. This unique soil creates a mirror effect that promotes grape ripening and forces the roots to plunge deep down. The vines, with an average age of 49 years, are cultivated according to the principles of organic and biodynamic farming. The estate also preserves its genetic diversity through a nursery located in the protected ecosystem of the Île de Lalande.

The gift box

Château Smith Haut Lafitte unveils an exclusive gift box, celebrating the memory of Daniel Cathiard, who passed away in early 2026. The three vintages (2015, 2020 and 2025) making up this special edition are adorned with an elegant golden label.

Château Smith Haut Lafitte 2015 - 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot.
With a deep, almost black colour, this vintage opens on a generous bouquet of crisp black fruits (blackberry, blueberry, cherry) enhanced by notes of cedar, liquorice and violet. The palate is ample and silky, carried by smooth tannins and a beautiful ripeness of fruit, with a long and elegant finish marked by floral and mineral accents. A great Pessac-Léognan, combining power and finesse, true to the finest assets of the 2015 vintage.

Château Smith Haut Lafitte 2020 - 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot.
A dark red colour with bluish highlights, this vintage expresses itself on an expressive nose blending red and black fruits, liquorice and subtle empyreumatic notes of pencil lead. The palate is powerful and enveloping, carried by firm tannins and a beautiful smoothness, with a lingering finish marked by sweet spices, light tobacco and graphite.

Château Smith Haut Lafitte 2025 - 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot.
A dark red colour of beautiful depth, the nose immediately seduces with fresh fruits dominated by blackcurrant, complemented by floral notes of rose, sweet spices, sandalwood and an elegant minerality of graphite and warm earth. The palate is at once dense and caressing, combining a silky texture with a full and harmonious substance, leading to an energetic finish of remarkable length. An accomplished 2025 vintage, blending freshness, aromatic complexity and great plenitude.
