The estate
Located in Meursault, in Côte de Beaune, Domaine du Château de Meursault ranks among Burgundy’s iconic estates. With over a thousand years of history, this Burgundian gem is now owned by the Halley family. The estate tends an outstanding vineyard in Côte-d’Or, spanning 65 hectares from Puligny-Montrachet to Aloxe-Corton.
The vineyard
This 1er cru « Perrières » comes from 1.1 hectares split between two hillside plots in Les Perrières, rooted in hard Jurassic limestone typical of Meursault.
Winemaking and aging
Hand-harvested grapes, followed by gentle, gradual pressing. After static settling, the musts ferment in oak barrels. Each plot is vinified and aged separately to preserve the expression of its terroir, under rigorous supervision. Aged for 15 to 18 months in barrels (around 35% new, completed with one- to two-wine barrels). The lots are blended prior to bottling.
Blend
100 % Chardonnay.
