The estate
Founded in Beaune in 1797, the Louis Latour estate is still owned by the same family, now in its eleventh generation. With 50 hectares in the Côte d’Or, it holds the largest collection of Burgundy grands crus. Renowned for its ability to blend tradition and innovation, Louis Latour has showcased its exceptional terroirs through precise winemaking and its own facilities, including its cooperage and historic cellars.
The vineyard
The “Les Chaillots” parcel is located in the commune of Aloxe-Corton, in the Côte de Beaune. Its name echoes the stony nature of its soils, composed of clay, sand, and alluvial gravel. The vines, averaging 35 years of age, produce a concentrated and elegant wine, true to this renowned climat.
Winemaking and aging
The grapes are harvested by hand, then traditionally vinified in open vats. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in full. Aging lasts 10 to 12 months in French oak barrels, 35% of which are new, from the estate’s cooperage.
Grape variety
100% Pinot Noir
