The freshness and elegance of a Soave Classico from Veneto

The estate

The Pieropan Estate, founded in 1880 by Leonildo Pieropan, embodies the heritage of a great winemaking family in the heart of the medieval village of Soave, in Veneto. For four generations, it has established itself as a benchmark for the region’s finest wines.

The vineyard

This Soave Classico comes from the hills of Soave, at altitudes ranging from 50 to 300 meters. The vines, aged between 6 and 60 years, are planted on volcanic and limestone soils, giving the wine its characteristic minerality. Facing west, they are trained using two pruning systems: Guyot (4,800 vines/ha) and Pergola Veronese (3,000 vines/ha). The entire vineyard is organically certified.

Winemaking and aging

The vinification of the Soave Classico 2024 begins with staggered manual harvests: trebbiano di Soave is picked in mid-September, followed by garganega in October. After destemming and gentle pneumatic pressing, fermentation takes place at low temperature (14–18°C) in glass-lined concrete tanks. This wine from Veneto is then aged on fine lees for 5 to 9 months before bottling, where it rests for at least one month prior to release.

Grapes

Soave Classico is made predominantly from garganega, complemented by trebbiano di Soave, two emblematic grape varieties of the Veneto region.
