Description
Characteristics and tasting tips for the Meursault Village "Les Narvaux" 2024 by Pierre Girardin
Tasting notes
Colour
The wine shows a brilliant golden colour.
Nose
The nose opens with lovely expressiveness, blending citrus aromas such as lemon and orange zest with notes of white fruit such as apple and pear. These are enriched by indulgent buttery, creamy and brioche-like touches, underscored by a fine minerality reminiscent of gunflint.
Palate
The palate stands out for its depth and vibrancy. Endowed with finely chiselled acidity and a subtly creamy texture, it offers a generous mid-palate. The long, savoury finish stretches elegantly over saline notes and citrus peel.
Food and wine pairings
This wine pairs wonderfully with fish served in a cream sauce, a rack of lamb with courgettes, or white meats with cream and mushrooms. It will also enhance mature cheeses such as an aged Comté or an Époisses.
Serving and cellaring
For optimal enjoyment, we recommend serving this Meursault Village "Les Narvaux" 2024 at a temperature between 8 and 10°C, or up to 13°C to accompany a meal. Decanting for 30 to 60 minutes is recommended to unlock its full complexity. This wine can be enjoyed in its youth, but has the structure to develop favourably in the cellar until around 2040.

The estate
Founded in 2016 in Burgundy, the Pierre Girardin estate is run by its current owner, Pierre-Vincent Girardin, who represents the thirteenth generation of a winemaking family. Based in Meursault, this young winemaker started out with 4.5 hectares before expanding his vineyard holdings to approximately 13 hectares in Burgundy and 6 hectares in the Jura. Certified organic since 2018, the estate is distinguished by a minimalist approach aimed at preserving the purity of the fruit. Today, Pierre Girardin's wines enjoy a fine reputation and are distributed in 85 countries.
The vineyard
The cuvée comes from the climat "Les Narvaux", a historic terroir located on the heights of the village of Meursault, just above the famous Premier Cru Genevrières. Rising to more than 300 metres in altitude, this steeply sloping vineyard sits on very stony soils composed of white marl, clay, limestone and gypsum. The vines, more than 25 years old, are harvested by hand, yielding grapes of great concentration.
The vintage
The 2024 vintage was marked by particularly balanced weather conditions. This mild weather allowed the berries to reach optimal ripeness while retaining remarkable natural freshness and fine tension.
Vinification and ageing
The estate's philosophy favours minimal intervention in the cellar. After gentle pressing, the must of the Meursault Village "Les Narvaux" 2024 is barrelled for 12 months of ageing in 456-litre oak barrels, 40% of which are new. The choice of larger vessels helps limit the influence of oak. The wine then benefits from a further 6 months of ageing in stainless steel tanks before bottling.
Grape variety
100% Chardonnay.
