A Burgundy red wine from old vines in the Côte de Beaune
The estate
Founded in 2023 by Pierre Vincent, a qualified oenologist and former General Manager of Domaine Leflaive, Domaine Pierre Vincent extends over 7 hectares in the Côte de Beaune. Based in Auxey-Duresses, the estate is managed by Pierre Vincent and his partners Hervé Kratiroff and Éric Versini. The vineyard, which is in conversion to organic and biodynamic farming, includes prestigious Burgundy appellations. With 50 to 100-year-old vines, the estate produces around twenty micro-cuvées, prioritizing the pure expression of the terroir.
The vineyard
This Burgundy is a blend of three plots located on different terroirs of the Côte de Beaune: Champ l'Huillier in Corpeau (0.6871 hectares, planted in 1962 on deep clay soil), Monpoulain in Volnay (0.2045 hectares, planted in 1972) and Les Grands Clous Perrons in Meursault (0.1957 hectares, planted in 1951). The soils are plowed and then grassed over, with very low use of inputs.
Winemaking and aging
Harvesting is done by hand with systematic sorting, and the harvest date is determined by strict ripeness monitoring. The vinification of the Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2023 begins with total destemming, followed by cold pre-fermentation maceration. Vatting lasts 15 days. Aging takes place over 18 months in oak barrels, with about 15% in amphorae and 15% in new barrels. Racking into stainless steel tanks precedes bottling.
