Structure and aromatic profile of a Douro Port wine
Taylor's, three centuries of Portuguese excellence
Founded in 1692 by Job Bearsley, Taylor's is today the last independent family Port house and is based in Vila Nova de Gaia in the Duriense region. Owner of the prestigious Quinta de Vargellas, Quinta de Terra Feita and Quinta do Junco vineyards, Taylor's preserves traditional cask aging and blending methods. A pioneer of Late Bottled Vintage in the 1960s, the house is distinguished by its characteristic aromatic complexity and its centuries of Portuguese viticultural excellence.
Historical Collection IV The Globe Reserve Tawny Port – an exceptional limited edition
This Historical Collection IV The Globe Reserve Tawny Port cuvée is a prestigious limited edition, created from a blend of Tawny stocks matured using traditional oak cask aging methods. The bottle design is inspired by the historic 17th-century shape and is considered the precursor to Taylor's iconic "Onion" bottle. It bears the engraved "4XX" symbol referencing the oldest registered trademark from 1692 and attests to the house's exceptional heritage. This Port wine perfectly reflects the richness and complexity characteristic of the Taylor's style, the result of blending methods passed down through generations.
