An Exceptional Bordeaux-Style Blend from Alto Adige
The Estate
The cooperative winery Tramin produces wines renowned for their quality and their expression of the Alpine terroir, as demonstrated by the Gault & Millau 2025 distinction with 4 schwarze Trauben awarded to this cuvée.
The Vineyard
Loam Cabernet-Merlot Riserva 2022 comes from vineyards located in the Alto Adige DOC, planted between 250 and 350 meters above sea level. The plots benefit from 90% southeast exposure and 10% south exposure, on calcareous gravel soils enriched with loam with heat-retaining properties. This sheltered site enjoys a striking, Dolomites-typical climate, alternating sunny days with Mediterranean influence and cool nights shaped by cold downslope winds.
The Vintage
The 2022 vintage in Trentin Haut-Adige stood out for a harvest carried out 10 days later than in 2021, with volumes below average. August was marked by generous sunshine and drought, accompanied by exceptionally cold nights. Harvest conditions proved favorable, with a succession of warm days alternating with increasingly cool nights.
Winemaking and Aging
Loam Cabernet-Merlot Riserva 2022 benefits from careful aging: 12 months in barrels, followed by 6 months in oak casks, then a minimum of 6 months of bottle aging before release.
Grape Varieties
Cabernet sauvignon (50%), merlot (35%), cabernet franc (15%).
