Chianti Classico Riserva "Il Puro" from Castello di Volpaia is a Sangiovese produced in the Chianti Classico appellation. The vineyard covers about 0.56 hectares, and is planted on a terroir composed of sandstone. The production of this wine is unique and somewhat rare, as the vines are cultivated according to the practices of organic agriculture and without the emission of CO2 into the atmosphere. As the name suggests, "Il Puro" is Sangiovese in its purest possible form, completing respecting the soil.

The Chianti Classico Riserva "Il Puro" 2011 by Castello di Volpaia reveals a complex aromatic strucure in the nose. Powerful aromas of cherries and violets, accompanied by subtle notes of vanilla and cocoa develop. The wine is soft, silky and intriguing. The fruity after taste pairs well with its superbly long finish.
