Robert Parker

Monica Larner

The organic Ceretto 2019 Barolo shows an immediate note of juicy cherry and plum that leads into a floral nuance, almost musky, like tuberose or something comparably fragrant. The fruit takes the lead, but the wine follows with sensual aromas of gentle baking spice, minerality and very fine-grained tannins. It is a blend of fruit from Barolo, Castiglione Falletto, La Morra and Serralunga d'Alba. The style is modern classic. This is a very generous wine.

Wine Spectator

Bruce Sanderson

Firm and still on the austere side, revealing tar, iron and eucalyptus flavors aligned with an elegant frame. Fierce tannins lock up the cherry and berry flavors for now. Nonetheless, the fruit is persistent, so give this a little more time. Best from 2027 through 2043. 2,128 cases imported.

Already showing white truffle, plum, and meat on the nose. Medium- to full-bodied with firm and chewy tannins that are polished and racy. Needs time to open. Better after 2026.

Falstaff

Falstaff

Clear ruby red colour with a garnet rim. Seductive, complex nose, revealing notes of raspberries and sour cherries, with nuances of pepper, nutmeg and some forest floor in the background. On the palate elegant and profound, with refreshing acidity, ripe tannins and persistent, savoury finish.

Wine Enthusiast

Jeff Porter

With aromas of dark cherry, preserved raspberries, clove and dried roses, this wine wafts from the glass with grace and class. It offers a firm and well-structured palate, displaying solid tannins and energetic acidity that lifts the notes of mixed wild berries, tobacco and tea, finishing with a chalky minerality.
