Château Bouscassé : Vieilles Vignes 2020

Superb, only slightly developed aromatics, then pink grapefruit, wild berries and spices; full attack, great density and length over class tannins, a present but well-integrated sweetness complex; can age for a long time.

On the one hand, the 2020 bouquet reveals notes of candied black berries; on the other, it shows real freshness. In short, it lays down the markers and suggests you go with it and find your own way… Of course, it helps you find your bearings, highlighting subtle blueberry nuances combined with juniper aromas. On the palate, the wine impresses with its ability to express its power with such deftness and agility; its greatness is already taking shape. One notes the persistent tannic drive, building in intensity along the palate before finally landing with decisive authority. The wine clearly indicates it is made for long ageing and is not yet ready to give itself, yet it still knows how to reveal itself beautifully. A kind of diva, but one that has the merit of mastering its vocalises.
