Description
2005 Saint-Emilion, 1er Grand Cru Classe B, Bordeaux.
The Château Canon vineyard is situated on a complex terroir and stretches over 32 hectares; it 30 years old on average. This excellent 2005 Saint-Emilion is a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc.
The wine displays a beautiful deep red colour. The 2005 Chateau Canon reveals a good persistence, followed by a lovely nervousness. This wine develops a certain richness characterised by complex aromas and a good ripeness. On the palate, this vintage is nervous with a lovely acidity, making this wine quite incredible. The aromatic evolution offers spicy, liquorice, gingerbread, violet, chocolate notes but also floral and slightly menthol aromas.
