Château Cos d'Estournel 2022

Yellow with greenish highlights; a nose marked by Sauvignon, lemon, lychee, anise and sage blossoms; powerful on the palate, showing creaminess and drive, a crisp acidity counterbalances the fruit, balanced, saline, long-lasting. An excellent white wine, ready to drink now, with ageing potential.

A blend of 74% Sauvignon Blanc and 26% Sémillon, the 2022 Cos d'Estournel Blanc wafts from the glass with aromas of spices, ripe orchard fruits, boxwood and herbs. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and layered, it's framed by delicate dry extracts and a phenolic, elegant bitterness enhanced by oaky notes, culminating in a long, saline and ethereal finish.

Tarragon, chive and thyme notes permeate a core of white peach and white nectarine fruit flavors. The sleek, shimmering finish lets a flash of oyster shell peek in. Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. Drink now through 2027. 1,000 cases made, 300 cases imported.

Green apple, grass, soft floral touches, some orange zest and fresh pineapple. Electric and thrilling, this is sharp, agile, sweet, tangy and salty—a gorgeous combination of fresh citrus fruits and peach flesh with flint and wet stone edges. Lovely direction and focus and still such depth on the mid-palate which some are lacking. It has appealing orange, lemon, peach, pear, apple fruit, juicy friendliness, and yet a persistence from start to finish that is so captivating and electric. Round, deep, sensual, rich and opulent but not heavy, it retains its firm structure with a delicious lemony, sugary brightness that lifts the palate and holds attention. A brilliant white wine, so enjoyable from the moment it touches the palate—widening, expanding, deepening and delighting. Total acidity 4.21, pH 3.21.

This has a layered nature with pear drops, cooked apples, lemon meringue and green mangoes. It’s full-bodied yet fresh and vivid. Chalky and stony. Some seashell undertones. Fruity and satisfying on the finish. Drink or hold.

The 2022 Cos d'Estournel Blanc is a blend of 74% Sauvignon Blanc and 26% Sémillon. Rich and creamy on the palate, the 2022 Cos Blanc offers up a striking mix of orchard fruit, chamomile, tangerine oil, mint and spice. Vinification and aging in barrel emphasize the wine's inherent oiliness and weight. This is a serious, structured white for the dinner table.

A superb effort for white Bordeaux in this hot, dry vintage was worth it. Fresh and refreshing with juicy green apples and citrus, the wine delivers pop and sweetness in a grapefruit-oriented, waxy finish. The blend is 74% Sauvignon Blanc and 24% Semillon. Drink from 2025-2035.

Light greenish yellow, silver reflections. Nuances of pink grapefruit, ripe gooseberries, delicate mango in the background, white flowers, multi-faceted bouquet. On the palate full-bodied and elegant, white tropical fruit, nuances of lychee and kiwi in the finish, fresh and balanced, a versatile food wine.

The Grand Vin 2022 Château Cos D'Estournel Blanc is similarly light gold-hued and is based on 74% Sauvignon Blanc and 26% Semillon. Lots of pear, white flowers, crushed citrus, and subtle salty nuances all shine here, and it's medium to full-bodied, rich, and layered, with a great finish. It's cut from the same cloth as the Pagodes yet brings a touch more precision, vibrancy, and length.

74% Sauvignon Blanc, 26% Sémillon. Densely interwoven bouquet, grapefruit peel, pomelo zest and mandarin. On the complex palate, creamy texture, peppery extract and medium body. In the focused, intensely aromatic finish, citrus fruit, citrus notes and cooled green tea.

A restrained nose, with a subtle richness that unfolds progressively with aeration. Aromas of exotic fruit and flowers, along with saffron. This is a wine defined by tension despite a warm vintage, offering on the palate a deliciously mouthwatering, zesty vibrancy before returning to a more serious, luxurious note that stretches into a long finish.

Pale color. An intense, refined nose—fruity, subtle, noble, spicy, deep, and pure. Broad on the attack, deep at mid-palate, particularly aromatic, this fine wine charms the palate with its power and delicate richness. Very long, complex, and meticulous finish with an orange flavor.
