Intense and balanced. Bright red fruit, spiced plum and redcurrant. Elevated freshness and well-integrated tannins. Nicely managed oak influence.

Light, bright, crisp red fruits abound with an herbal and earthy, lean, simple red plum finish. Springtime in Pomerol. 83 - 85 Pts

Showing the ripe, sexy style of the vintage nicely, the 2015 Pomerol reveals a medium ruby hue as well as exuberant, perfumed notes of red and black fruits, sappy spring flowers, smoked tobacco, dried herbs, and chocolate. With medium-bodied richness, light tannins, and a balanced, fruit-loaded style, it just begs to be drunk over the coming 10-12 years.

Fresh, light bouquet, red berries, red cherries, mint. Light, finely structured palate with light, sweet fruit, fine tannins, sweet aromatics, medium finish. Can still improve. 16/20 2022 - 2035

Wine Enthusiast

R.V.

Still maturing, this wine shows ripe black fruits as well as a lower layer of tannins. Concentration, spice and smokiness are part of a harmonious, balanced wine, full bodied and with a good future. Drink from 2021.

Description

It is on the largest domaine of Pomerol - 48 hectares - that the Chateau de Sales vineyard produces wines faithful to the terroir expression. This wine is a 70% Merlot, 15% Cabernet-Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet-Franc. The vineyards grow on a gravelly-sandy soil with iron-dirt subsoil. This 2015 reveals a very beautiful ruby-tinted deep red colour. The 2015 Chateau de Sales carries a both complex and intense nose of subtle woody aromas, but especially red berry and spicy notes. This wine offers a good attack on the palate, as well as a harmonious balance associated with a good breadth, vinosity, roundness and flesh. The finish is long, marked by fine and elegant tannins, and enhanced by fruity aromas. The 2015 Chateau de Sales is a worth keeping great vintage.
