Tasting notes and serving advice for Tinus Raisins Rôtis Solera 1723 from Château des Tourettes
Tasting
Appearance
Bright and remarkably clear, the wine reveals a radiant golden yellow hue.
Nose
The nose opens with enticing floral notes and dried fruits, reminiscent of apricot. It also presents a delicate reduction revealing hints of leather and hazelnut, along with a fine mineral complexity.
Palate
With remarkable length, the palate charms with its density and fruity profile dominated by apricot and yellow-fleshed fruits. The whole is perfectly balanced by a slightly creamy texture, nuanced acidity, and persistent minerality.
Food and wine pairings
This white wine pairs beautifully with pan-seared or semi-cooked foie gras, as well as blue or aged cheeses. For more adventurous pairings, it will ideally accompany a salmon tartare with ginger, langoustine ravioli, or a lobster velouté.
Serving and cellaring
To fully enjoy the complexity of this cuvée, it is recommended to serve it between 10 and 12°C. Enjoyable today, it will benefit from slight aeration before tasting to release the full range of its aromas.
The aromatic richness and minerality of a white wine from Château des Tourettes
The estate
Founded in 1997 by Jean-Marie Guffens and his wife Maine Heynen, the Château des Tourettes is an estate nestled on the foothills of the Luberon, in the southern part of the Rhône Valley. Building on their success in Burgundy, the founders transformed this property to apply their philosophy of excellence. Renowned for its innovative approach, the estate produces outstanding wines that showcase this unique Provençal terroir.
The vineyard
Reaching an altitude of 420 meters, the vineyard benefits from a cool microclimate with mild nights, encouraging slow ripening of the grapes. The vines thrive on complex soils, marked by an exceptional richness in limestone mixed with sand and clay. The estate practices a distinctive form of viticulture that limits soil work and preserves natural grass cover to achieve small, highly concentrated yields.
Winemaking and aging
Crafted according to the solera principle, this Vin de France is the result of a meticulous blend. The harvest is carried out by hand, followed by rigorous sorting of the bunches. The wine then undergoes extended aging using the solera system, which gives it its creamy texture and great aromatic complexity.
