Vinum

Ruby red; initially shy yet profound, herbs, raspberries, blond tobacco; silky on the palate, delicate, ripe fruit, dancing, playful, with tension, finesse, and very good aromatic persistence. A grace!

Decanter

A little shy on the nose, needs some coaxing, blackcurrant, blackberry and dark cherry fruit. Dried flowers, roses, violets, milk chocolate, creamy. Lovely texture on the palate, filling and round, plush and gently firm. Grippy but not overdone. Some enjoyable austerity but the structure is there and this has mouthwatering acidity. Dried herbs, mint, salty stones, tobacco and some dried spices. Well built with a sense of character. 3% Petit Verdot completes the blend. Ageing 50% new oak barrels. 3.71pH. Tasted three times. A yield of 35hl/ha.

Vibrant and silky on the palate, the wine unfolds layers of sweet, lifted black cherries, dark cocoa, refreshing mint, spice, and strawberries. There is elegance and length, with a fruit-filled, refined, energetic finish. Give it a year or two in the bottle, and it will be even better. The wine is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot. 13% ABV, pH 3.71. Harvest took place from September 18 to October 11. Drink from 2028–2045. 93–95 pts

Le Figaro Vin

A deep, commanding nose, poised between linear and opulent, threaded with delicate floral aromas. Very complete on the palate, with an energy that carries the fruit and mineral notes through to the long, saline finish. The satiny texture, silky tannins, and that absolutely delicious finish make it a great wine.

Plush, impressive colour, with medium to full intensity inky plum. Good quality, feels like a true En Primeur sample with its fragrance, austerity, well-built tannins—impressive, sappy, savoury and understated black fruits. It will take time to reveal Margaux’s fragrant heart, but it’s there. Alex Van der Beek, director. Famille Albada Jelgersma. 35 hl/ha yield.

Jean-Marc Quarin

Jean-Marc Quarin

Deep, intense, vibrant colour. Lovely, highly aromatic nose with ripe fruit. A touch of oak in the background. Delicate on entry, delicious through the mid-palate with a melting texture, the wine extends into a liquorice-scented, fragrant finish. A lovely, finely textured progression with no hardness. Blend: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot. Alcohol content: 13%. Yield: 35 hl/ha.
