Description
A silky Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé with beautiful finesse
The estate
Established in the 18th century, although its origins date back to the 16th century, Château La Dominique is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé acquired in 1969 by Clément Fayat, an entrepreneur in the construction industry. Under the leadership of the Fayat family, the current owners, this estate on the Right Bank of Bordeaux has undergone a profound transformation, with a complete restructuring of the vineyard and the construction of a contemporary red winery designed by Jean Nouvel, inaugurated in 2013.
The vineyard
This Château La Dominique 2025 comes from a 21.2-hectare vineyard in production within the Saint-Émilion appellation. The vines, averaging 25 years of age, thrive on a diverse terroir combining clay, clay-gravel soils and sand over clay.
Vinification and ageing
The hand-harvested grapes are vinified in temperature-controlled truncated conical vats. Ageing lasts 14 months, with 50% in new barrels, 35% in one-wine barrels and 15% in amphorae.
Blend
Merlot (85%) and Cabernet Franc (15%).
