Clearly defined nose of cassis, blackberry, and subtle roasted notes. On the palate, medium-bodied with ripe, finely interwoven tannins and impressively crisp fruit. Long, fresh finish with plenty of cassis.

An expressive nose full of dark fruit, spiced and herbal elements. Clean and clear, juicy and lively, more of a light, lean, delicate take; everything is there, just a subtle version of the blackcurrant and strawberries, acidity and tannin profile. I do like it though; it's well made and still has an enjoyable juicy core and long finish. Likely to be extremely pleasant and easy to drink in a few years, still with typicity. Same score as En Primeur, but this was lovely to taste again.

Complex yet subtle aromas of currants, tar, lead pencil, redwood, violets and blackberries follow through to a medium body, with ultrafine tannins and a crunchy and vivid finish. Just a hint of chocolate at the end. Special label to commemorate the winery’s 200th anniversary. Sleek and refined, but give this three or four years to soften.

The 2021 Langoa Barton comes in a specially designed, one-off, hand-drawn label and a sustainable cardboard box instead of wood, to celebrate the bicentenary of family ownership. The aromatics have actually moved up a step since I tasted it from barrel: intense blackberry and wild strawberry fruit, crushed violet and just a hint of eucalyptus. The oak is neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with surprisingly plush black fruit, a suave and harmonious Langoa with a dash of spice toward the finish. This is packed full of flavor and will be difficult to resist in its youth.

Deep ruby garnet colour with purple reflections, subtle ochre rim. Nuances of red berries, notes of cherries, some liquorice and bergamot, delicate hints of precious wood and nougat. Juicy, ripe blackberries, pleasant fruitiness, fresh structure, mineral, integrated tannins, salty finish, already accessible, has good ageing potential.

Released in a special bottle celebrating the château's 200-year anniversary, the 2021 Château Langoa Barton checks in as 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, with the élevage spanning 18 months in 60% new barrels. It offers a healthy purple/plum hue to go with impressive depth and richness in its darker currants, spicy oak, and cedar pencil/graphite-like aromatics. With medium-bodied richness, terrific mid-palate depth, and a broad, layered, mouth-filling texture, it deserves 4-6 years of bottle age and will cruise over the following two decades in cold cellars. It's another terrific wine from this château. Tasted twice with consistent notes.

Slightly sweet, rich, expansive and full-bodied, this very structured Langoa shows tremendous presence. Very harmonious and clear on the palate—broad and natural, effortlessly composed, highly nuanced and finely woven. Despite an initially dry progression, everything gains juiciness with great length, carried by a transparent, glass-like structure. A very tight, dense St.-Julien with great style and class. Energetic, firm and forceful, with a dark-berry finish.

Ruby red colour, welcoming grilled raspberry and plum fruits, austere even after ageing, but carefully constructed, and this has charm, with cedar, cloves and sandalwood grilling to the tannins, and a lovely salted cracker uplift on the finish. 2021 is the 200th anniversary of the purchase of Langoa by the Barton family, so there is a special label this year. It is a hand-colored drawing by a family friend of the Bartons, and Anthony is in the picture, sitting on the step with his dog. Langoa Barton 2021 is a blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, and 3% Cabernet Franc and has a medium to deep garnet-purple color. Scents of black cherries, juicy raspberries, and fresh blackcurrants leap from the glass, leading to touches of graphite and wild sage. The medium-bodied palate delivers plenty of lively fruit at mid-palate, with fine-grained tannins and a red-berry lift on the finish.

Adorned with a special label to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the cru’s acquisition by the Barton family, the 2021 pays fitting tribute to the occasion. The wine, true to its style, is delicious, seamless and very refined, with silky tannins.

A slightly pretentious, somewhat tight nose with a hint of varnish. More supple on the palate, with lovely fruit and a velvety texture. If you give it time to age properly in the cellar, you won’t be disappointed.

Logo on the cork: JL (Lafitte Liège) A beautiful deep, dark purple-red. An intense nose with fresh fruit aromas. Hints of ink and wood. Delicate on the attack, tasty on the mid-palate and aromatic, the wine caresses the palate. It builds and becomes juicy on the finish. Smooth, well-integrated tannins. Very enjoyable overall. For reference, this wine has had a new, original and colorful label since 2021.

Bright, crisp red berries accompanied by cedar, mint, and tobacco notes that show all over the place is what you find here. Medium-bodied, fresh, and forward, this is probably the earliest-drinking Langoa I recall tasting. The bottle is adorned with a one-time-only special label that commemorates the family's 200 years of ownership, an amazing and beautiful accomplishment that deserves recognition in today’s ever-changing world. Decorated with a label celebrating 200 years of the Barton family in Bordeaux, the wine has touches of toast aromas with smokiness. On the palate, tannins give a dry core to the wine. It is ripe, but with a great freshness. Drink from 2028.
