Wonderfully ripe, with a well-focused beam of raspberry coulis, currant preserve and cherry paste flavors coursing atop a refined chalky spine. Light anise, violet and black tea notes weave in and out on the long finish. Lovely cut. Best from 2023 through 2035. 517 cases made.

100% Merlot. Same ownership as Clos Fourtet. Ripe with dark cherry notes and fine grain of tannin. Good tension; well executed and precise.

Delicious, with attractive dark-berry and subtle leafy aromas, backed by laid-back cedary oak. The palate sits at the riper end, with slinky, curvaceous tannins that carry long flavors of plum liqueur. Drink now or hold.

Tasted blind. Blackish crimson. Quite intensely ripe – a hint of black cherry. Something reminiscent of a confectioner here and some very obvious alcohol and heat on the finish. Too much so for comfort. (JR)

Silky in texture, with a melange of dark red fruits, licorice and cherry griotte, this medium/full-bodied wine is a beauty. It’s sensuous, soft and long, with the right amount of decadence on the finish to make you go back for more.

Very intense colour (more so than Clos Fourtet), with a tight, full-bodied palate and a fine length, developing a liquorice note, with "dark" aromas still marked by a persistent toasted edge.

The unmissable château at the top of Saint-Emilion now belongs to the Cuvelier family of the neighboring château Clos Fourtet. The colour is garnet with delicate aromas. The wine is elegant, with lovely notes of fresh blackberries, good length, and present tannins. 100% Merlot from two hectares.

Garnet red with violet highlights. An elegant, complex, intense and subtle bouquet. A beautiful expression of the terroir with limestone, chalky notes. Seductive nuances with spicy and floral hints. Such elegance. The attack is tasty and refined. On the palate, the wine is compact, fruity, charming, and boasts lovely aromatic intensity. The latter is supported by a structure that also brings freshness and breed. The tannins are perfectly integrated and appear late. Plenty of delicacy, charm and power. Once again, Grandes Murailles is exceptional!

The nose is fruity and offers a certain indulgence as well as precise fruit. It reveals notes of blackberry and crème de cassis, joined by a hint of blueberry, a delicate touch of violet, a touch of iris and subtle oak. The palate is fruity, balanced, and offers minerality, freshness, indulgence, smoothness, elegance, along with a lovely silky texture and fine grain. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of blackberry, blueberry, and, more subtly, Quetsche plum jam, combined with delicate notes of licorice, black cherry and oak. The tannins are well-handled and elegant. Good length and persistence on the fruit, with a very fine toasty note.

The estate borders Clos Fourtet and has been worked by the same team for the past 2 vintages. It’s a 100% Merlot wine—round, juicy, tasty, fragrant, very pleasant, but a bit simple on the finish. Normal length.
